Cercon Smart Ceramics requires a simple, familiar clinical protocol. Preparation design follows established guidelines for all-ceramic restorations.

Preparation Requirements:

  • Occlusal reduction of 2.0mm
  • Axial reduction of 1.5mm
  • Minimal axial taper of 3° on each axial wall
  • Shoulder or heavy chamfer margins of 1.0mm width - internal and external line angles should be rounded.
  • Bridge and splinted restorations should have preparations that have parallel paths of insertion.

Cementation can be accomplished using traditional C&B methods and materials. Cercon crowns may also be bonded with resin cement if desired, but is not necessary for clinical success.
