Bosker TMI
System
The Bosker TMI
reconstruction
system was developed
in Netherlands
in the mid-1970s
to correct the
difficult problems
patients experience
as a result of
severe bone loss
in the lower jaw.
The TMI system
restores the function
of the mastication
and facial esthetics
without the need
for augmentation
procedures. The
TMI also arrests
progressive bone
loss and may induce
bone growth, resulting
in increase of
bone height and
volume.
The TMI is
a rigid box-frame
structure that
controls and
evenly distributes
the masticatory
forces along
the existing
severely atrophic
mandible if
the prosthesis
is made implant-borne
on the rigid
box-frame structure.
All components
of TMI system
are standardized
and interchangeable
and thus the
TMI system is
repairable.
